Today I picked up this book to browse thru and discovered that chapter 9 z-test covered hypothesis testing. A topic that I am looking for  beginner information on  to present . I recently judged a high school science fair. The students worked hard but needed more information about statistics and hypothesis testing  for their presentations. This is a good book for them.

The code for Understanding Statistics Using R is on Springer.com , go to the book’s page on the site. The code is arranged by chapter. It is easy and straight forward to run the code. The chapters have lots of exercises.  This is a good book to learn both statistics and R .
